This page was created to put items that have something to do with Liz Phair, but I haven't found a specific place (yet) to place them in - call it a storage area.

"A Cut Above was the top band at New Trier High School from 1982-1985. Josh Bracken, the bass player (pictured with a brush in his mouth), had an art class with Liz and must have arranged for her to do a poster for one of the school gigs. Joel Tachau played keyboards." (Thanks to Joel Tachau for the scan of the A Cut Above poster and his recollections!)

Liz pen/ink drawing from 1993

This is a pen and ink drawing by Liz during the Exile In Guyville tour, which was auctioned off on eBay. Here are some recollections:

"The situation was very casual. We were traveling in the van, between gigs and she asked to use my sketchbook and produced the drawing exhibited here. It was the first east coast leg of the Guyville tour and I was the Road crew. A one man road crew. We did the 9:30 Club in DC, CBGB's, Khyber Pass in Philly, Maxwell's in Hoboken. I don't recall where the Boston show was. We also did an in-store at a record store in Georgetown. It was a fun and very exciting time as it was just beginning to explode. I was very good friends and neighbors with her guitarist Casey Rice and he invited me to go with them as road manager. This is how I came to own this drawing." (Thanks to Christine D. for the drawing and recollections!)

Here is some more background information on that sketch, courtesy of Shaun Hagglund:

Knowing you have an interest in unique and rare Liz things, I thought you might be interested in checking out a coupIe of things I recently purchased. I was the bidder who purchased the drawing on eBay. I've attached a hi-res image for you. The eBay picture service (or seller's scanner) trimmed off a little of the drawing. You can really make out some great detail in the scan. It turns out the guy that sold the drawing lives locally."

"When I went to pick up the sketch he also had a short story he, Liz, and LeRoy Bach wrote while on tour in 1993. I purchased the story from him and included hi-res scans here. Each took turns writing a piece of the story and passed the notebook around. It was helpful in authenticating the drawing and story because I was able to match Liz's handwriting in the short story to an inscription she made in the past."

Since the time I became a Liz Phair fan, I have been searching for the elusive third Girly Sound cassette. Over the years, I have acquired several cassettes, all of which were many generations down the line from the originals.

Late in 2005, I was contacted by John Fleming, who used to put out a small music fanzine in the late '80s. Through his fanzine he met a fellow by the name of Tae Won Yu. Tae gave him Liz's address and told him to write her to ask for a tape. She sent him two Girly Sound cassettes.

Mr. Fleming kinda offered me copies of his cassettes, which I happily accepted. They were first generation dubs, and they were the best sounding Girly Sound material I had heard since the Juvenilia EP. I see a few of these tracks have now leaked. I will be giving more details on the contents in a short while (because I know some people will be dying to know about certain tracks!).(Thanks to John Fleming for the dubs and his recollections!)
