Liz Phair

A FEW WORDS FROM ME...
Well, here is phase one of my website redecoration. I will continue to keep updating all news, so fear not. Let me know what you think of the changes.

Also, I want to mention if you're desperate for news AT THIS VERY SECOND, why don't you join one/two/all of the Liz Phair mailing lists? That's where all my news usually goes first (if I don't break it here first). If you don't like mailing lists, I suggest you continue to keep an eye on this page or at any one of the other Liz sites. [Thanks to Truck for the design idea.]

PHAIR'S GOT NEWS: NEW SONGS, NEW ALBUM IN WORKS
Well, all of you have been asking, "When is Liz's new album coming out?" The answer comes from Ellen Warren and Terry Armour, two columnists from the Chicago Tribune (from the May 18th, 2000 issue):

Brace yourself, Liz Phair fans. Inc. hears the homegrown rocker -- and mother of 3-year-old Nicholas -- has written close to 30 new songs and is in the process of choosing the best 12 to 16 for her fourth album, which likely will be released at the end of the year. That's also when Phair will hit the road again, touring to support the disc.

Happy? :) [Special thanks to Ellen Warren and Terry Armour from the Chicago Tribune for the invaluable information.]

"BABY GOT GOING" IN ANOTHER FILM
"Baby Got Going", from Liz's whitechocolatespaceegg album, is featured in the film High Fidelity, starring John Cusack. The song is not featured on the soundtrack, but a whitechocolatespaceegg poster is prominently displayed on a record store display window in the film (which happens to be set in Chicago).

NEW LIZ ALBUM: THE DETAILS
According to sources, Liz's new album has not been delayed. Liz is just taking a breather after recording the basic tracks for her upcoming album. Apparently 16 tracks have been recorded for possible inclusion on the album. Titles include "Bouncers' Conversation", "Firewalker", "Don't Apologize", and "My Mistake" (all reported earlier). In the meantime, Liz is looking for a producer for the album. [Thanks to Jason Long for the info.]

NEW LIZ ALBUM DELAYED?
According to sources, the forthcoming album An Evening With... has been shelved temporarily.

The source said that Liz is off being a soccer mom and has no idea when the album will get done.

Sorry to inform you all of this... [Thanks to Paige for the news, and thanks to Steve Kisko for suggesting a different word other than "indefinitely" (email him to let him know what you think - HA!).]
