[Thanks to Russ Waterhouse at Matador Records for the Lilith dates.] See and hear Liz at a Lilith Fair press conference. Click here. However, if your browser is not capable of hearing/viewing a Real Audio/Video file (or you just don't have the Real Audio/Video software), click here to listen to Liz's comments (800K .wav file). From Gerard Cosloy: "Liz will probably be doing headlining dates after the Lilith extravaganza is done, but I have no dates or cities for you, yet." (Thanks to Jason Long for the information.) [From Rolling Stone Online, June 10, 1998] Indie rock princess Liz Phair will replace Sheryl Crow on three Lilith Fair dates this month. Phair will join up with Lilith on June 24 at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, Calif., June 28 at Desert Sky Pavilion in Phoenix and June 29 at the New Mexico Wine Festival in Albuquerque, N.M., according to a source for the tour. Phair will fly in specifically for these dates, but no replacement has been named for the two remaining shows that Crow left open -- June 20 at the Gorge in George, Wash., and June 27 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. |

The netcast of whitechocolatespaceegg was a success! Some words from Russ Waterhouse of Matador: Just a quick "thank you" to everyone who supported the wcse "netcast". Apparently it's been more successful than any other "netcast" Capitol has ever done! That's all for now. Good night and good listening, rw |

While in town on the Lilith Fair tour, Liz taped a segment for the program Just Passin' Thru on WHFS-FM 99.1 Washington DC/Baltimore on July 19. Here is a setlist of the songs she performed (thanks to Tarry Carapezza for the setlist):
Liz's segment will air on Sunday, July 26 (get your tape decks ready). The hour-long program usually consists of a live in-studio performance mixed in with interview questions (at least the last time I heard the show). Check out the WHFS-FM website for further details. [Thanks to Meredith Robbins for the information. Of course, she's one of the lucky few who was got to meet Liz up close and personal at the WHFS studios!] |

LIZ A NO-SHOW AT SAN FRANCISCO LILITH FAIR SHOWS
Liz was not one of the performers at the San Francisco Lilith Fair shows, much to my chagrin. Why? I don't know, but I'd sure like to find the maintainers of the Lilith Fair website and ask who is (are) responsible for this misinformation. GRRRR... Matador is not at fault here, as they did not list either San Franscisco Lilith Fair date on their tour dates webpage. In fact, they have apologized to me for the inconvience: From Russ Waterhouse: Ken,
Liz didn't show up because she wasn't scheduled to appear. I don't know sure why that date was listed. Have you written the Lilith people? We didn't have it on our list of dates, I've no clue why it was promoted in that way. I'm REALLY sorry this has happened but there's really nothing we can do.
By the way, if you are interested in who actually played at the San Francisco Lilith Fair shows, check out the Shoreline Ampitheater website.
